Undtaget "Comfortably Numb":
Optaget 2022 på Brias Studios, Washington DC; Tree Sounds, Atlanta;
Electric Lady, New York; Armoury Studios, Vancouver; Sargent Recorders, LA
Waters var i gang med at planlægge "This is not a Drill" som skulle
Mother
Two Suns in the Sunset
Vera (Inkl. Bring the
Boys Back Home)
The Gunner's Dream
The Bravery of Being Out of Range
Og så lige et bonus nummer lavet efter Lockdown
Comfortably Numb 2022
I følge den lille booklet der følger med CD'en, så er de numre her, nogle numre bandet brugte
som ekstranumre på Us + Them touren.

Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother do you think they'll like this song?
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Oooh aah, Mother should I build the wall?
Mother should I run for president?
Mother should I trust the government?
Mother will they put me in the firing line?
ooh Ma, this is just a waste of time.
Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry.
Mama's gonna make all your nightmares come true.
Mama's gonna put all her fears into you.
Mama's gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Mama's gonna keep baby cozy and warm.
Ooh baby
ooh baby
oooooh baby, of course mamma's gonna help build the wall.
Mother do you think she's good enough -- for me?
Mama do you think she's dangerous -- to me?
Mama will she tear your little boy apart?
Ooh aah, Mother will she break my heart?
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry.
Mama's gonna check out all your girl friends for you.
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through.
Mama's gonna wait up until you get in.
Mama will always find out where you've been.
Mama's gonna keep baby healthy and clean.
Ooh baby
ooh baby
oooh baby, you'll always be baby to me.
Mother, did it need to be so high?
"Two Suns in the Sunset" [6'02] Waters
In my rear view mirror the sun is going down
Sinking behind bridges in the
road
And I think of all the good things
That we have left undone
And
I suffer premonitions
Confirm suspicions
Of the holocaust to come.
The rusty wire that holds the cork
That keeps the anger in
Gives way
And suddenly it's day again.
The sun is in the east
Even though the day
is done.
Two suns in the sunset
Hmm
Could be the human race
is run.
Like the moment when the brakes lock
And you slide towards
the big truck
You stretch the frozen moments with your fear.
And you'll never hear their voices
And you'll never see their faces
You
have no recourse to the law anymore.
And as the windshield melts
My tears eveaporate
Leaving
only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.
Ashes and diamonds
Foe and friend
We were all equal in the end.
"Vera / Bring the Boys Back Home" [5'15]
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said
that We would
meet again some sunny day?
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you?
Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do?
Bring the boys back home.
Bring the boys back home.
Don't leave the children on their own, no, no.
Bring the boys back home.
Ladies
Bring the boys back home.
Bring the boys back home.
Don't leave the children on their own, no, no.
Bring the boys back home.
Bring the boys back home.
Bring the boys back home.
Don't leave the children on their own, no, no.
Bring the boys back home.
one more time
Bring the boys back home.
Bring the boys back home.
Don't leave the children on their own, no, no.
Bring the boys back home.
Yeah bring the boys back home
"The Gunner's Dream" [5'32] Waters
Floating down
through the clouds
Memories come rushing up to meet me now.
But in the space between the heavens
and the corner of some foreigh field
I had a dream.
I had a dream.
Goodbye Max.
Goodbye Ma.
After the
service when you're walking slowly to the car
And the silver in her hair shines
in the cold November air
You hear the tolling bell and touch the silk in your
lapel
And as the tear drops rise to meet the comfort of the band
You take
her frail hand
And hold on to the dream.
A place to stay
Enough to
eat
Somewhere old heroes shuffle safely down the street
Where you can speak
out loud about your doubts and fears
What's more, no one ever disappears
You never hear their standard issue kicking in your door.
You can relax on
both sides of the tracks
And maniacs don't blow holes in bandsmen by remote
control
And everyone has recourse to the law
And no one kills the children
anymore.
No one kills the children anymore.
Night after night
Going
'round and 'round my brain
His dream is driving me insane.
In the corner
of some foreign field
The gunner sleeps tonight.
What's done is done.
We
cannot just write off his final scene.
Take heed of his dream.
Take heed.
The Bravery of Being out of Range (Waters) [6'52]
You have a natural tendency
To squeeze off a shot
You're good fun at
parties
You wear the right masks
You're old but you still like a laugh
in the locker room
You can't abide change
You're at home on the range
You opened the suitcase behind the old workings
To show off the magnum
You deafened the canyon
A comfort a friend
Only upstaged in the end
by the Uzi machine gun
Does the recoil remind you
Remind you of sex
Old man, what the hell you gonna kill next?
Old timer - who you gonna kill
next?
I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Saw a U.S. Marine in a pile
of debris
I swam in your pools
And lay under your palm trees
I looked
in the eyes of the Indian
Who lay on the Federal Building steps
And
through the range finder over the hill
I saw the front line boys popping
their pills
Sick of the mess they find on their desert stage
And the
bravery of being out of range
Yeah the question is vexed
Old man what the
hell you gonna kill next?
Old timer - who you gonna kill next?
30 years later, it's the same old tune
No closer to peace than the man in the
moon
The president's still just as crazy as a loon
Still picking fights in
some foreign saloon
Bombs still falling out of the sky
The band's still playing Miss American Pie
The gunner still sleeps in the same foreign field
and the boys are still coming
home on a shield
and nothing is real
We play the game
With the bravery of being out of range
We still zap and maim
With the bravery of being out of range
Still straffing the train
With the bravery of being out of range
Still gain terrain
With the bravery of being out of range
Still fucking insane
With the bravery of being out of range
Still channeling John Wayne
With the bravery of being out of range
Still blowing out our own damn brains
Yeah, with the bravery of being out of range
Hey bartender over here
Two more shots and two more beers
Sir turn up the TV
sound
The war has started on the ground
Just love those laser guided
bombs
They're really great for righting wrongs
You hit the
target and win the game
From bars 3,000 miles away
3,000 miles
away
We play the game
With the bravery of being out of range
Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now,
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease the pain
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I'll
need some information first.
Just the basic facts.
Can you show me where
it hurts?
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on
the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I
can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands
felt just like two balloons.
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't
explain you would not understand
This is not how I am.
I have become
comfortably numb.
O.K.
Just a little pin prick.
There'll be no more aaaaaaaaah!
But
you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working,
good.
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear
what you're saying.
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot
put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
I have
become comfortably numb
Ooh
baby baby.
Ooh,
ooh ooh Hey
Hear
me
oh hear me
please hear me
Hear me when I call
ooh
ooh
ooh
ooh
No
no
no
no
no
no
no
